The Wireless 900 MHz Datalink for Ground Station System is transmission hardware that works in conjunction with DJI's ground station software for Windows, allowing you to plot and execute autopilot flights using 3D Google Maps and waypoint navigation. The hardware includes three main components: a ground end unit and two air end units. At the air end there is a 2.4 GHz receiver for the control signal, and a separate 900 MHz transceiver for the datalink. Incorporating a control signal into the system means the ground station can also be used for manually flying cases where the transmitter (hand-held radio controller) is out of range.

Note: The 900 MHz radio used by this system is intended for use in the U.S.

Interface Designed for Usability
The ground station offers a 3D graphical interface that is designed to be easy to install and less complex than many alternative solutions. The DJI ground station control can save time, improve operational efficiency, and ease mission planning with support for flexible and intelligent control over any mission
Supports Google 3D Maps
The software incorporates GIS (geographic information system) data from Google 3D maps. This enables pilots to draw scale flight plans in a realistic 3D environment. To operate, use the mouse to zoom in or out of the map. Maps can be downloaded and saved for offline access
Accurate Flight Control Algorithms
The system combines GPS with a 6DOF (6° of freedom) inertial measurement unit, a magnetometer, and pressure altimeter sensors to provide the flight control algorithms the precision data they require. Even in adverse conditions, such as high vibration and high demand environments, the aircraft should be able to maintain flight stability thanks to correction the algorithms provide
Real-Time Flight Monitoring
In addition to the aircraft location, heading, and altitude, the ground station also provides other flight data such as attitude, air speed, vertical speed, throttle and pitch percentage, and servo voltage at all times
Auto Return Home
If the datalink signal is lost, on-board autonomy will kick-in as a fail-safe. The aircraft will implement and complete the default route mission automatically, even with no datalink signal present

In manual mode, the aircraft will initially hover when the control signal lost. After 10 seconds of no communication, Auto Return Home will engage and the aircraft return to its original take-off point. In addition, the user can click the "return" button and the system will interrupt the current mission immediately to order to return the aircraft its home point
Keyboard/Joystick Mode
The pilot can use a keyboard or joystick with ground station system to control aircraft movements and attitude. This allows you to manually control the aircraft even if the transmitter (radio controller) is out or range or has otherwise stopped working
Click and Go Flight
Click on any point on a 3D map and the aircraft will hone in on the coordinates automatically. Ideal for flights where the exact route cannot be set in advance. Flight altitude and flight speed can also be adjusted in-flight, and the location of waypoints can be moved in cases where pre-planning was already done
Auto Takeoff and Landing
Automatic take off and landing can be triggered using either the radio transmitter or ground station keyboard. Take off and landing (ascending and descending) speed is 0.7 to 1.6 feet per second
Customizable Waypoints
Users can carry out special settings, such as height, latitude and longitude, flight speed, the nose direction, turning patterns, residence time, and more. Additionally, parameters for multiple destinations can all be batched at once
Six Preset Route Templates
Six types of pre-set route templates are provided as default settings that can assist in completing a mission quickly, in a designated area with set height. The size of coordinates for the mission area, the number of waypoints in the region, the waypoint properties, and more can all be customized. Templates are especially useful for vertical photography, precise mapping, spraying agriculture sites, and other industrial applications
Three Waypoint Turning Mode Options
There are 3 different fight routing planning modes: fixed-point turn mode, coordinated turn mode, and adaptive coordinated turn mode

Fixed-Point Mode: Aircraft flies to the first fixed point accurately, stays at the fixed point, and then flies to the next fixed point. The fixed points and the length of each stay both can be set in advance

Coordinated Turning Mode: The route of aircraft is calculated with turning speed and turning angle. The aircraft flies from one point to another point without stopping

Adaptive Coordinated Turning Mode: Almost the same as Coordinated Turning mode, but the flight routine can be planned with a finer degree of granularity
Custom Servo Channel Control
Provides two servo outputs to support custom servo operations. These outputs can be used between the controller and/or third-party devices. For example, to operate a camera shutter release, air-drop activation, or other switching devices
Batch Route Task Setting
During a flight mission, task start, delay, and repetitive time can be set. By setting the time period, repeat time, start delay, and repeat time parameters the operator can customize these functions to suit a specific application
Edit Mission Parameters During Flight
During a flight, the operator can update mission parameters, such as flight routes or waypoints. A "Pause" button allows the operator to suspend the mission - at this point, aircraft will slow down and hover awaiting a new assignment. When and if signal is lost, the system will pick the optimal route to return home automatically
F-Channel Controller
The user can customize the main controller's F1 to F4 channels' output signals to support additional functionality, such as Servo, Gimbal, and Camera operation
Relative Coordinates Editor
Relative Coordinates Editor is an accurate drawing tool for creating regular geometric figures on a 3D map. The user can set an initial waypoint, then add a second waypoint with angle and distance details. The ground control system will calculate the next waypoint coordinates accurately
Photogrammetry Tool
The Photogrammetry tool can be used along with the DJI aerial photography waypoint system to produce aerial maps from photos
Simulation
For training and mission testing, the ground control system features the ability to simulate a real flight environment
Upload / Download Flight Mission
All routes/waypoint settings can be exported and saved from the controller to a Windows. The files can be imported for future reuse
