Ideal for large shooting spaces, the Limelight VB-1185 Standard Lighting Boom is the big brother of the VB-1180, measuring 9.5' overall and offering a 6.0' reach. The VB-1185 has a unique parallelogram design that makes it one of the most flexible support tools on the market. One of the more annoying and potentially hazardous aspects of overhead lighting involves the need to adjust the angle of your light source whenever you adjust the height of the boom. The VB-1185 cleverly addresses this problem by using a levering arm to self-adjust the light source's angle to keep it constant during changes in height. Subsequent angle changes are made simple with the handle at the pivot point that allows you 360 degree control of the head extension.

Excellent balance is another feature of the VB-1185's design, allowing you to forgo the anxiety of unlocking, tightening, and re-locking the boom for every adjustment. Once the two included 15 lb capacity counterweight bags are in place you can raise, lower, and swing the boom at will while it stays put. This aspect allows you try multiple creative positions that you might have abandoned to avoid arduous hoisting.

The VB-1180 weighs 16 lb and comes with 2 empty 15 lb capacity counterweight bags and an 18" head extension which can be swapped out for optional 24, 30, or 48" extensions for a longer reach.
